Are you a service leaver?
Kier Regional Director, Mike Furze on service leavers, “Kier is committed to helping people from all backgrounds to develop careers in a wide range of trades, and we are actively encouraging new recruits into the industry and are recruiting now. Military service leavers have shown a tremendous commitment to our country by putting their lives at risk and we are privileged to be able to help them with their future career choices and support their return to civilian life.”
For decades the Kier name has been synonymous with the very best in building and civil engineering; now it also has a growing services division, as well as private and affordable housing interests, property development and infrastructure investment. 2014 saw Kier signing the MOD Corporate Covenant, a commitment to help service leavers and reservists find employment, be treated equally in the work place and to support families.
With the backing, quality and safety record of Kier Group behind you, as well as high quality training and a guaranteed work placement, you can’t go wrong choosing Gas Training at Kier.
We have been busy getting feedback from service leavers completing the course on what to include in this section for you and the overwhelming response was to have more videos on what you can expect. So have a look at our 4 brand new videos to help you see what you would be doing with us if you choose us to help you on your path to your next career!
We understand how time consuming and difficult finding placements can be, especially if you are currently posted overseas. Our course guarantees your placement with Kier (or with a valued partner) saving you valuable time.
We are so confident in the quality of our training that we offer candidates the opportunity to undertake a work placement within Kier Services or with one of our valued partners. We offer a guaranteed eight-week work experience placement with our team of specialist gas engineers throughout the UK.
As one of the top construction and building maintenance companies in the UK we have an extensive network of suppliers through which we are able to promote work placements.
All candidates carrying out placements with us will have full access to recruitment bulletins which advertise national and international positions and how to apply for them. We are also able to provide links to the recruitment agencies specialising in gas engineer roles, as well as those we use to help candidates get short-term or agency work.
In 2015 we introduced the ‘guaranteed interview’ for you on completion of your qualification with us for jobs across the UK with G4S and now we can add 0800 Repair for smart meter and white goods installers, Sherwoods and local business, when the vacancies arise, to the list of people who want to speak to you when you are qualified.
Once you qualify with us, no matter what direction you then choose to take, be it self-employment, working for us or our partners, we will stay in touch with you for support. You will get FREE access to the learner login section for 12 months which provides you with links to fault finding videos, manufacturer’s instructions, training manuals and as a graduate of the Gas Training at Kier school you will receive special offers on all courses that you book with us, never having to pay full price for a course again! Every time you complete another course with us, we extend your learner login membership by another 12 months providing you with a general enquiry line should you face a fault/diagnosis that you need a bit of support with and don’t know where else to ask.
