Commonly known as LPG Re-assessment, once qualified every engineer needs to re-sit the LPG relevant assessments every 5 years if they want to remain compliant with Gas Safe. ACS LPG 'Re-assessments' can be undertaken up to 6 months prior to the current expiry date without any loss of time. (time remaining on your current accreditation is added on to the next 5 years) This assessment is aimed at those already in possession of relevant CCLP1 (and any of the following: CoNGLP1, PD, RPH and HTRLP2). For Re-assessment all candidates must be able to provide their current certificates. All candidates must have a valid CCN1 or COCN1 on commencement of course. Candidates must bring with them:

  • All previous original certification
  • 2 passport size photographs
  • National Insurance Number
  • Photographic ID e.g driving licence or Passport
Please note policy on re-sits: there is no charge to re-sit any part of your assessment should you fail. Limited to one assessment per person. Payment Full payment required on attendance

  • Gas safety regulations, & British Standards
  • Unsafe situations and emergency actions
  • Characteristics of LPG
  • Cylinder location, safety and sizing
  • Operation and positioning of emergency isolation, flow control and valves for cylinders
  • Supply pressures.
  • Gas pipework (Including sizing, installation, defects and faults)
  • Tightness testing and purging (PD& RPH)
  • Servicing procedures
  • Flues and ventilation
  • Combustion
  • Combustion Performance Analysis (Flue gas testing)
And knowledge to prove competency on any of the following: PD Permanent Dwellings RPH Residential Park Home HTRLP2 Install, Exchange, Service, Repair, Breakdown and Commission Closed Flue Gas Fires - LPG

Bill Walton Name: William (Bill) Walton Position: Trainer, Assessor Experience: Bill has worked in the gas industry for over 37 years having started with Northern Gas in 1977. Qualified in both domestic and commercial gas, Bill has worked in the North East for Truscott Engineering, Initial Property Maintenance, North Tyneside Council and most recently Kier. With experience in taking gas apprentices under his wing and being one of the most experienced ‘go to’ men in the gas team, the natural progression for Bill was to start teaching it and his effortless and instinctive training ability meant he was the obvious choice for the team. Bill enjoys meeting new people, sharing his knowledge and experience in a fun and humorous way, with plenty of real life examples. He has served with the TA, is interested in all things military and enjoys socialising with family and friends. Bill is also the First Aider and Fire Marshall for the training centre in Killingworth, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
